There is a new day for the Anime & Manga Club, and the first meeting on the new day is May 14th at 5:00 PM! This month we will watch a movie, bind our own sketchbook in the Yotsume Toji (Four Eye Binding) style, and draw an animal on it's first page! Bring any patterned paper you may want for your sketchbook, in case you don't like the patterns provided. See you there!
Starting on April 30th, Homework Help will be offered from 2:30-5:00, Monday through Thursday, in the Young Adult Corner at the library. An extra day will also be offered in May, Saturday 19 from 10:00 AM- 1:00 PM, so that you can get help before the end of the school year. A librarian will be on duty to help students with studying, paper writing, editing, research, and resource hunting. Learn how to use the library’s databases to research your history project due by the end of the year! Get tips on how to study for the biology final! Have someone proofread the final draft of your English paper! The possibilities are endless when you have the library to help.
The teenagers of Atchison will have even more opportunities at the Atchison Public Library starting on April 30! The Young Adult corner by the circulation desk will have a new look, with more seating and interactive displays for our visitors. In addition to the card games and computers that will be available for our teenagers’ use, several activities and programs will be starting up. The Anime Girl’s Club will continue to meet on the second Monday of the month, but there will also be Movie Days, Retro Gaming Events, new clubs, and the Summer Reading Program to look forward to. A librarian will also be on duty for the new Homework Help, which will be offered from 2:30-5:00 Monday through Thursday after school. Students can get information on how to use the library’s online and physical resources to finish those papers and study for those finals! Editing, researching, studying and fun can all be found in the Atchison Public Library. Come in after the “remodel” and check out the new space!
