Our friends at the Northeast Kansas Library System (NEKLS) keep a close eye on the Kansas Notable Books award nominations and have added this year’s winners to the NExpress catalog. Below is the list of 2011 winners and you can now place holds on any of these titles by following these links:

Friends of Atchison Library Annual Meeting
Join us at the Library on Sunday, September 25th from 2 – 4 p.m. for our Annual Meeting. After a brief business meeting and election of officers, a panel will discuss one-room schoolhouses. Following the panel discussion, the film “One-Room Schoolhouse” will be shown. The documentary features several Atchison County teachers including Vera Hurst, the Atchison County expert on the subject.
Friends of the Atchison Library (FoAL) is a volunteer organization whose purpose is to:
- Build support in the community for the Atchison Library.
- Enhance the image, materials, services and facilities of the Atchison
Library by undertaking specific projects on its behalf. - Maintain an association of individual, civic organizations, businesses, and
other groups interested in the Atchison library. - Create public awareness of the activities of the Friends of the Atchison
Library and encourage participation in the organization.
