Kansas becomes smoke-free on July 1

On July 1, 2010 the Kansas Indoor Clean Air Act will take effect. Kansas workplaces, bars and restaurants will become smoke-free.  Also businesses will be required to post signs stating that smoking is prohibited by state law.

Effective July 1, 2010, smoking will be prohibited in most of the following indoor locations in Kansas:
Public places
Places of employment
Restaurants
Bars
Within 10 feet of any doorway, open window or air intake where smoking is prohibited

The new law won’t change anything at the Library. All Library property (including our park) are totally tobacco free.
