It's our 7th annual Breakfast with Santa! Join us at 9:00 am on Saturday, December 16th for some holiday fun. We will have donuts, fresh fruit, and assorted drinks before Santa shows up to hear wishlists and take pictures with the kids. Then, we'll cap it off with the dazzling illusions of Dan Dan the Magic Man! This event is FREE and all ages are welcome. So please join us for some real Christmas magic!
The Atchison Library will be closing at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, November 22, to get a jumpstart on the Thanksgiving holiday. We will also be closed Thanksgiving Day and Friday (November 23 & 24). We will, however, reopen at 9:00 am Saturday, November 25, for our normal Saturday hours. So, if you're in need of a good book to keep you company over the holiday, or a movie to watch with the family, make sure you get down here before 5:00 tonight! And if we don't see you before then, we wish all our patrons a happy and safe Thanksgiving!
Are you crazy about food? Bring a family favorite tonight to share with 15-20 people and sample favorites from other families. Don't forget your plate and silverware!
Don't forget--Cafe Boheme is tonight--come drink some free cappuccino and listen to great local music. Are you musically talented? Come show us what you've got!
If you want a quick read that will make you laugh until tears fall, this is the book for you.
Stephen Colbert's Midnight Confessions is one of the funniest books I've read. It's irreverent. I like that. And as he states, you don't have to be Catholic to enjoy it.
If you have 30 minutes to kill, and need a laugh, this book is perfect. Enjoy.
Our library has a great resource for reading or listening to books on-line, be it on a computer, on your phone or with another device. Just go to sunflowerelibrary.overdrive.com/ , select Atchison Library and log in with your card number and PIN. If you would like for us to order a title you do not see on there, put in a patron request for it (be sure to specify that you would like the item in Overdrive and whether you want an ebook or an audiobook). Questions? Ask us at the circulation desk!
