Hello from the Library’s new director

Today is the start of my third week as director of the Atchison Public Library and I want to introduce myself by saying how happy I am to be a part of this wonderful library. In the month of June, we averaged over 500 visitors to the library per day. Here are some other numbers – we checked out over 5,700 books and videos to adults and over 5,800 to children. Our computers were used just under 3,000 times, enabling the folks of Atchison to keep in contact with friends and family, apply for jobs, search for information, and more. I could go on and talk about our great programs for children and teens, our services to the homebound, our resource sharing with other libraries…and don’t worry, in the coming weeks I will…but for now I just want to say how proud I am to be a part of the staff that makes all this possible for the community of Atchison. My office is just across from the main circulation desk. Please stop and say “hi”!  — Diana Weaver, Director
