The Friends of the Atchison Library is a volunteer organization founded for the purpose of building community support and pride for the our Library through fund raising, promotion and activities. Friends of the Atchison Library began in 1987 with a $50 gift and an idea. Through the years the Friends have supported the Library by purchasing materials, funding the Online Book Club (Chapter a Day), helping with the Summer Reading program, the Annual Used Book Sale, and in numerous other ways. To paraphrase Kathleen Berry, President of FoAL, “…the Atchison Library is a source of pride for our community. The FoAL group is a source of pride as well. I hope many people will consider joining this outstanding organization today! Stop by the Library and pick up a membership form TODAY!
