Dear Connie:

My wife, the former Shirley Maycroft, surely enjoyed seeing you this morning. She grew up Kansas street at 112 S 2nd and says she spent a lot of time here at the library. She brought her kids here, Angie and James Bowen in their formative years, too. Angie and her husband James Sherwood in Belt MT and brother James Bowen in Omaha, NE wish you the best also.
Even though I grew up in mission and wenr ro The Johnson Co. library at 63rd and Antioch in my adolescence, you and the rest of the staff have made me feel so at home here the last year especially as a new retiree frequenting the periodical section.
Shirley and I are at project concern most other times here in Atchison, especially as we are in the process of being dispaced from our home in Elwood due to flooding for the forseeable future.
The coffee here is the Best, also!!!
All the best in your well deserved retirement.

My grandchildren and I thoroughly enjoyed the Alan Cunningham show on 6/11. Songs, voice, guitar and instruments.
Would he be interested in a song from about the 1920's that my father learned in grade school and my family has been singing for 4 generations now? Called "Twenty Froggies". I know he writes his own songs, but the kids love this song. Just a thought! jk

The reception was fantastic. Thanks to Cheryl and Melody for such an outstanding job.
A heartfelt thank you to the Feldmans for their generosity. The children of Atchison can know the joy of book ownership now for a long time.
Too bad the Globe couldn't make it. It would have made a wonderful story that people would like to read.

Hi,

I'm writing to suggest a good website. The website is called "Teachers’ Lists of the Best Children’s Books". Here's the website address:

http://www.the-best-childrens-books.org/

I use this site to find books on topics my daughter is learning about in school, and then I go find the books at the library. I think it has really helped her be more interested in school. Yea! :)

Anyway, just thought you might want to know about it.
