Interlibrary Loan Self-Request
Go directly to Iluminar if you’re already familiar with ILL self-request. Otherwise, please follow the instructions below. OR, if you are familiar with, and like, the old request sight, click here.
BEFORE you begin please do one of the following: phone 367-1902 ext. 201, come in, or e-mail pfuhrman [at] atchisonlibrary.org stating that you wish your card to be activated for interlibrary loan self-request. ALSO, BEFORE PLACING AN ILL REQUEST, check to see if the material is available through the NExpress catalog. Follow the steps below to initiate and complete your request:
To search the Kansas Library Catalog, click here.
Click on the arrow at the extreme left of your screen and log in using your NExpress Library Card Number (no spaces).
In the second box, enter your PIN 4-digit number. Your PIN was assigned to you when your NExpress card was issued. If you do not know your PIN, please contact the main circulation desk.
Click the “LOGIN” button. This will take you to the main search page of the Kansas Library Catalog.
You may use the “Quick” search box at the top of the main page, or you can click “Expert Search” at the top of the page.
After entering your search criteria and clicking the “Search” button, you will be brought to a results page. Click on the “Locations” button of the result that most closely matches your request. Click on the “Request this Item” button to place a request.
You will then be directed to the online request form. In order for your request to process correctly, enter one of the following: your phone number, fax number, or your email address (however you wish to be notified when the material is available).
Hit the “Submit” button at the bottom of the page. This will bring up a box saying “Your ILL request has been submitted.”
It normally takes 7-10 days for an item to arrive at the library. You will be notified when the item is available for pickup.
To Check the Status of an ILL Request, follow these steps:
Sign into the Kansas Library Catalog by clicking here and entering your NExpress Library Card number (no spaces).
Once signed in to the KLC click on the “My Account” icon (small person in blue shirt).
Then click “Items From Other Libraries”.
A new screen will open and there will be a list of the items you have requested and their status.
