Talk About Literature in Kansas (TALK)
Monday, March 28th, 3:00 p.m.

T.A.L.K. book discussions immerse readers in captivating stories and introduce them to different experiences through literature. In keeping with Kansas’ 150th year celebration, our TALKs have centered on “The Best of the West.” This final session will be lead by Joyce Thierer in a discussion of Walter Van Tilberg Clark’s classic “The Oxbow Incident.” Set in 1885, The Ox-Bow Incident is a searing and realistic portrait of frontier life and mob violence in the American West. The story focuses on the lynching of three innocent men and the tragedy that ensues when law and order are abandoned. The result is an emotionally powerful, vivid, and unforgettable novel transmuted into a universal story about good and evil, individual and community, justice and human nature.
